iPhone app for the color blind...

Dan Kamisky has fixed color for the color blind with this app he built for the iphone...I love the story on how he came up with the idea (from his site):
'So, we’re in Taiwan, building something…amusing…when we go out to see the Star Trek movie. Afterwords, one of the engineers mentions he’s color blind. I say to him, these fateful words:
“What did you think about the green girl?”
He responds, with shock: “There was a green girl??? I thought she was just tan!“'

Action Method

I'm always on the lookout for good project management tools, and I have just discovered a new one. Action Method, it would be most closely compared to BaseCamp, but seems to have a better User Interface (UI) and looks like it works well for keeping a personal to-do list as well.

It's free version allows you to create projects and delegate tasks to others, but limits you to 50 tasks total with unlimited projects (plenty for your day-to-day projects on a personal level) but if you plan to use it for an actual event planning tool or project management tool for your small company, you might want to fork out the $99 for a years worth of access. With this upgraded plan, you get file storage, and a whole slew of other features to make your life easier, like collaboration space, and online discussions.

It also has a free iphone app that ties in beutifully, and some paper accesories that you can order for your team to ensure that eeverything stays beautifully tracked even when you're jotting notes down at meetings.

Using a Bridge to make Housing

What awesome ideas...I wouldn't say it's a smart thing to build housing on a bridge that is slated to be torn down for not being safe in seismic activity, but still, awesome conceptual ideas, and maybe better used in less shaky ground than the California Bay Area.

Zombie Pub Crawl

San Jose, CA - August 25th 2010

Starting at the appropriately named Gore Park, go on a pub crawl around San Jose in full Zombie mode, get your Zombie make-up done for low costs, and bring some canned food to give to Second Harvest Food Bank, and stick around for a screening of Zombieland.

Bacon Camp

from the site: BaconCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment about bacon. It is an intense event with discussions, demos and interaction from participants who are the main actors of the event.  It is community driven and everyone is encouraged to participate by presenting (food, art, demo), judging, or volunteering.  BaconCamp is not a spectator sport.
